When Amesbury Super Fete held their latest event at a sensitive site, they knew who to turn too. MD Security have provided security to the Amesbury Carnival Committee for several years now, but this years "Super Fete" event posed important challenges...
In it's third year, the organisers of the event had to achieve higher security and risk mitigation requirements - owing to it's new location and larger expected attendance. This years event took place on MoD land, adjacent to an active RAF airfield and the nature of the security requirements on the land required a controlled entrance and bag searches.
MD Security, working with Wessex Event Support Team (W.E.S.T) helped formulate a complete security management plan for the event, incorporating the required counter terrorism measures, and ultimately provided a complete managed screening and security solution for what was otherwise an open and free event.
In addition to entry screening, MD also provided event patrol security, boundry patrols, stage pit security and response teams to cover site wide security at the event. Working with the licence holder, local police and other stakeholders the enlarged event was able to proceed without hitch, whilst MD dynamically provided additional security operatives as capacity increased - without the gates ever having to be closed.
Event director Vicky Parks commented "we work with MD on all of our events and the fact they managed to draft in increased resource, owing to larger than expected crowd numbers, without us having to close the gates, speaks volumes about their professionalism and capability - we look forward to working with them again".
The event was widely covered in the local press and the local policing team were among those who commended it's success.
